Pizza Sauce

The beauty of this no cook pizza sauce is in the simplicity of the ingredients.

I’m so excited that I recently found a new way to make pizza sauce. This new recipe has changed my life. Previously, I would make my pizza sauce on the stovetop. The process was not laborious, but it did take a tiny bit of effort and it left a few more dishes in the process.

This no-cook pizza sauce comes together in less than 5 minutes. No joke. Start with a can of crushed tomatoes, olive oil, some dried herbs, and spices finished with a bit of sugar and salt. It is really that easy and uses a lot fewer dishes, bonus. The sauce will cook in the oven, so it is all good.

I have also used this sauce for mozzarella sticks (don’t judge), arancini, and fried calamari. It's already in heavy rotation and I'm thinking about other ways I can use this sauce so I don't OD on pizza. The flavors of this sauce are bold and will hold up to any pizza toppings.

PRO TIPS

  • Canned Tomatoes: Embrace canned tomatoes, they’re really good and delicious. I used

  • Olive Oil: Opt for good olive oil. If you have special occasion olive oil (shoot out to all my foodies) this is the time to use it.

  • Spices: I like a little heat in my sauce, so I opt for red pepper flakes. You can omit if spice isn’t your thing.
